Location

Skostredet Hotel enjoys a prime location in Bergen’s historic bar and restaurant district, positioned perfectly between the wharf and train station. The hotel sits on the traditional street Skostredet, near the House of Literature and Bergen Cathedral (Domkirken), the city’s oldest and most beautiful church dating back nearly 900 years. Historic Bryggen, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, is within walking distance (approximately 4 minutes), as is the Fish Market. The Fløibanen Funicular is just 250 meters away — a 2-minute walk — making it incredibly easy to access mountain views.

The location offers the best of both worlds: close enough to major attractions that everything is walkable, yet on a quieter street that provides respite from the tourist crowds. This hotel exceeded all expectations! Super well organized with incredibly kind and helpful staff. The breakfast was simply delicious — one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had. The Norwegians really pay attention to details, design, and engineering, and this beautiful hotel shines in every category. The room was quiet, comfortable, and modern. We especially loved the Japanese restaurant downstairs. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Comfortable beds and clean, functional design. The breakfast was extensive and the front desk staff were genuinely helpful with local recommendations. Most soundproofed hotel I’ve ever stayed in — we couldn’t hear any noise despite being in the city center. The Japanese restaurant was a real treat. This hotel is a green oasis in Bergen!
